Holargos

The Municipality of Holargos is located in the Athens metropolitan area, northeast of the city centre and at the foot of the Ymittos mountain. The municipality has a population of about 55.000 residents.

Mostly residential in nature, Holargos has a history that dates back 2500 years. The most famous resident was Pericles in the 5th century BC, ruler of Athens during the "Golden Ages" of the city when the Acropolis was built.

Apart from the LEAP project, the Municipal Enterprise of Holargos is currently involved in European environmental projects for climate protection and the greening of businesses.

Irene Skoula and Alexis Chatzimpiros from the Greek organisation EPTA are working on the LEAP project on behalf of the municipality of Holargos
